Keep Your Home at its Most Secure with Our Residential Locksmith Services

Being locked out of your home is never a fun experience, especially if it’s late or the weather is bad! While there are many reasons why you might get locked out of your house, getting back in should never involve danger to yourself or smashing windows. Here at Pop-A-Lock of Charlotte, we would hate to learn that a potential client was injured by breaking a window or falling from a height trying to gain entrance into their own home. That’s why we have decided to offer seven-day-a-week locksmith services for our friends and neighbors here in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Besides letting you into your house when you’ve misplaced your keys, we offer many other residential locksmith services, as well! For example, after you buy a new house, you should have your locks rekeyed to protect your safety and keep your new home secure. A simple rekeying will make any of the previous homeowners’ keys or spare keys obsolete, while costing you less than it would to change all the locks. Additionally, this will give you one house key that opens all exterior doors instead of separate keys for each door. If you want all new locks, we can help you install them, so you can feel confident in their security.

Our residential locksmith services have been helping people here in Charlotte since 1998, and we would love to be able to add you to our list of satisfied clients. If you are locked out of your home; need help with changing, rekeying or repairing the locks; or just want to learn how to make your home more secure, we can help. Call us at Pop-A-Lock of Charlotte today for the best in residential locksmith services!

FAQs About Residential Locksmithing

At Pop-A-Lock, we take pleasure in being a valuable resource for our customers in the Charlotte, North Carolina area who have questions. As a reliable and trusted residential locksmith, we are here for all the work you need done, the best security products available, and answers to your questions and concerns. Here are a couple of common questions we have been asked in the past:

How often should I have my locks changed or rekeyed?

One or the other should be done when you first take possession of your home. After that, it is a matter of determining how vulnerable you might be. If you can benefit from stronger locks, having them changed is wise even if it hasn’t been that long. If you haven’t kept your keys secured consistently and there is a chance someone could have duplicated them, it is a good idea to have the locks rekeyed to render their key worthless. As a side note, never give your entire keyring with your house key attached to valets or mechanics. Keep a spare car key for that purpose or remove it from your keyring and give to them that way. If you forget, call a residential locksmith to have the locks rekeyed to be on the safe side.

How can you ensure security but give a caregiver, housekeeper, or other professional access?

There are several ways to go about this. A residential locksmith can install a keypad for access allowing you to change the code after someone is no longer working for you. You can also call us for rekeying, which you should do even if they do return the key to you. We are happy to go over other options based on the objectives you have in mind.
