We recommend name-brand hardware — off-brand locks from online marketplaces are often difficult to rekey, may use non-standard keyways that make replacement keys hard to find, and don’t hold up the way quality brands do.

I’m adding a deadbolt to a door that doesn’t have one — is that different?
Yes, and it’s important to tell us upfront when you call. Installing a deadbolt on a door without an existing one requires boring new holes in the door and frame. We need to know this before we schedule so we can confirm we have everything the job requires and quote you accurately.
Do you supply the hardware or do I need to bring my own?
We stock builder-grade residential hardware and higher-end Yale and Emtek hardware at our Bartow location. For smart locks, we recommend picking up your hardware at a quality retailer before your appointment — we’ll install and program whatever brand you choose. If you already have hardware you want installed, bring it.
Should I replace my locks or just rekey them?
If the hardware is in good condition and the issue is security — someone has a key who shouldn’t — rekeying is the right answer. It’s faster, less expensive, and doesn’t require any modifications to your door or frame. New hardware makes sense when locks are worn, damaged, or you want to upgrade the appearance or functionality. We’ll tell you honestly which makes sense when you call.

We install most major brands — Kwikset, Schlage, Yale, August, and others. We don’t stock smart locks in-shop due to the range of models and finish options, so source your hardware from a quality brick-and-mortar retailer or trusted supplier before your appointment. Stick to recognized brand names — off-brand smart locks from online marketplaces are often poor quality, can be difficult to program consistently, and don’t hold up to everyday wear the way name brands do.
