Your Trusted Locksmith Partner in Child Safety

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare – the heart-stopping realization that your child is locked inside a vehicle, exposed to harsh temperatures, facing potentially life-threatening consequences. Tragically, this scenario unfolds far more often than one may think. That’s why we pioneered our PALSavesKids community service program. At Pop-A-Lock, we work with our community to keep children safe and encourage prevention and education over blame.

PALSavesKids: A Life Saving Mission

Founded in 1991 by law enforcement officers who understand the critical importance of safety, Pop-A-Lock has always been committed to protecting lives and communities. The PALSavesKids program, introduced by Pop-A-Lock, embodies this mission by providing a service aimed at rescuing children trapped inside locked vehicles

Since its inception, this remarkable program has saved thousands of children, ensuring their safety without imposing any financial burden on families or caregivers. At the heart of PALSavesKids lies a steadfast dedication to prevention and education, recognizing that the goal is not to blame but to foster a safer environment for our children.

Prevention: The First Line of Defense

While PALSavesKids is here to rescue children in their times of need, we also believe that prevention is the first line of defense against such harrowing situations. Here are some practical tips to help you safeguard your loved ones:

  • Keep Essentials in Sight: Place your child’s favorite toy, blanket, or diaper bag in the front seat of your vehicle. This simple step serves as a visual reminder, reducing the risk of unintentionally leaving your child behind.
  • Rearrange Your Belongings: Put your purse, briefcase, or any personal items in the backseat, prompting you to check the rear area before exiting the vehicle. By creating this routine, you can significantly reduce the chance of a child being left unattended in a locked car.
  • Stay Focused: Distractions while driving can lead to lapses in memory. To ensure your child’s safety, stay off your phone and keep your focus on safely transporting them to their caregiver.
  • Establish Check-In Calls: If you’re not the one dropping off your child with the caregiver, establish a designated check-in time. Have the caregiver call you if you haven’t arrived as expected, adding an extra layer of accountability.
  • Coordinate with Others: If someone other than yourself is responsible for bringing your child to the caregiver, maintain clear communication. Call them at a designated time to ensure the child’s safe arrival.
  • Be a Guardian Angel: If you ever encounter a child locked in a vehicle without supervision, don’t hesitate to get involved. Immediately call 9-1-1, then call Pop-A-Lock. Your quick response could save a life.
