On Saturday September 16, 2017 Albuquerque Police responded to the report of a 11-year-old girl locked inside a gun safe at the Costco on Eubank. When Albuquerque Police arrived on the scene Costco workers were attempting to open the safe. Albuquerque Police called the Fire Department, and Pop-A-Lock El Paso to come assist in helping the child.
At about 12:01 the girl was finally released from the safe, checked, and cleared on the scene. There were no charges filed because the child simply locked herself in.
